Write down both sides

A wallet tariff can affect the amount debited, while the merchant independently sets cashier minimums and maximums. Compare the wallet prompt, receipt and merchant entry.

Example

If a hypothetical GHS 50 order incurs a GHS 1 wallet charge, the wallet debit would be GHS 51 and the order could still show GHS 50. This is arithmetic, not a current Ghana tariff.

Before confirming

Verify the currency, total debit, recipient and any extra charge on the official prompt. If the prompt differs from the order and the reason is unclear, cancel and ask for clarification.

A GHS 50 order shows a GHS 51 debit

Compare the itemised wallet prompt with the merchant order before confirming. The difference might be a separately displayed charge, but do not assume that without an explanation. If the operator advertises a minimum, check whether it applies to the order amount rather than the total debit.

Record the fee separately from the amount that should reach the merchant.
