Payment records

  • Wallet reference: identifier assigned by the payment service.
  • Cashier order ID: identifier assigned by the merchant.
  • Pending: an intermediate status that needs a later check.
  • Reversal: a separate entry returning all or part of a prior transaction.

Account checks

  • KYC: identity checks performed by a service.
  • GHS: the Ghana cedi currency code.
  • OTP: a one-time code for a specific login or action.
  • Merchant: the business that receives a payment.

One transaction has two reference numbers

Imagine a GHS 20 wallet debit with one reference and a cashier order with another. A provider may recognise the first, while the merchant may need the second. If a credit later returns to the wallet, it may have a third reference linked to the original debit.

Use the terms as labels when writing a support message: amount, wallet reference, order ID and reversal reference.
